Samsung has introduced an entry-level version of its Galaxy Book6 laptop in Italy, positioning it as a direct competitor to Apple's MacBook Neo, according to DDay.it. The device is now official in the country, with pricing starting at 849 euros for the 14-inch model.

The new Galaxy Book6 is powered by Intel's Wildcat Lake processor, a chip designed for budget-friendly computing, as reported by TuttoTech.net. Samsung's move appears aimed at capturing consumers who might otherwise consider Apple's lower-cost MacBook Neo lineup.

Italian tech outlets have framed the launch as the beginning of a head-to-head battle between the two products in the European market. GizChina.it noted that the affordable Galaxy Book6 is now official in Italy and represents Samsung's opening salvo in this competitive segment.

While the 14-inch version starts at 849 euros, a larger 16-inch Galaxy Book6 configuration has also appeared in retail channels. HDblog.it reported that Amazon is currently offering the Galaxy Book6 16-inch model at a discounted price, starting from 999 euros.

The timing of the release suggests Samsung is seeking to establish a foothold in the value-oriented laptop space, where Apple has recently expanded with the MacBook Neo. The Galaxy Book6's combination of a low-cost Intel processor and competitive pricing could appeal to students and budget-conscious professionals.

Samsung has not yet announced whether the entry-level Galaxy Book6 will expand beyond Italy to other markets. Observers will be watching to see if the company rolls out the device more broadly in the coming months, which could intensify competition with Apple's budget offerings across Europe.
