The Philippine Stock Exchange index (PSEi) rebounded on Monday, September 14, 2026, ending a two-day slide as investors picked up cheaper shares and foreign buying returned, the Philippine News Agency reported. The peso, however, slipped against the dollar.
According to the Philippine News Agency, the recovery was driven by bargain hunting and foreign buying.
The rebound was also attributed to expectations of easing by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and prospects for higher government spending, according to the Manila Bulletin. The Inquirer.net separately reported that the PSEi snapped its two-day slide on bargain hunting.

The broader outlook remains uncertain. BusinessWorld Online reported that Philippine stocks may fall further as war risks grow, while The Manila Times said a bearish trend is seen for the PSEi ahead of the US Federal Reserve's policy decision.
Investors will be watching the Fed's decision and its guidance on interest rates, along with any signals from the BSP on its own policy path.
