Lindsay Clancy's attorney has asked a judge to find her not guilty of murder after her trial ended in a mistrial, according to CBC. The request followed a jury that could not reach a unanimous verdict.
The case drew attention as jurors spoke publicly about what happened during deliberations. One juror claimed the holdout mimicked strangling during the discussions, ABC News reported. Three jurors gave an interview to NBC Boston about the holdout, the prosecution and the defense. Another juror told NBC News the panel felt defeated by the deadlock.
Clancy's lawyer has also said he is open to a plea deal, though CTV News reported there is no simple route to one.

The mistrial means the prosecution did not secure a conviction, and the defense is now pressing the court to resolve the case in Clancy's favor rather than prepare for another trial. The judge has not yet ruled on the acquittal request, and no new trial date has been reported.
What to watch next: whether the judge grants the not-guilty motion or sets the case for a retrial.
