An Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU) soldier has died at a dormitory in the Halim Air Base complex, with initial reports pointing to an assault by senior personnel, according to AFU.id. The victim was identified as Serda Ahmad Muzammil, and four fellow soldiers have been detained in connection with the case, ANTARA News Sulteng reported.
According to detikcom, the incident reportedly began over a food dispute — mi kuah (noodle soup) that was turned into fried noodles — before escalating into the fatal encounter with the four seniors. CNN Indonesia also reported that the death occurred at the dormitory in the Halim Air Base compound.
The case has drawn political attention. Kompas reported that TB Hasanuddin, a member of Indonesia's House of Representatives, called for a transparent investigation into Muzammil's death. The detention of the four personnel was carried out by military police (Pomau), according to ANTARA News Sulteng.

The Air Force has not yet released a full public account of the events, and the circumstances surrounding the death remain under investigation. No timeline has been given for the completion of the inquiry.
What to watch next: whether military authorities release the findings of the investigation and confirm the charges faced by the four detained personnel.
