Two Ghanaian political figures will travel to the Gomoa and Effutu communities on September 5 as part of a peace initiative, according to Modern Ghana. The delegation will be led by Majority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin and musician-turned-activist Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus.

The visit comes in the wake of violent clashes in the nearby New Winneba area. Police have arrested six suspects in connection with an attack there that left three people dead and fifteen injured, as reported by GBC Ghana Online. The peace mission aims to address tensions in the region following those events.

Modern Ghana also reports that chiefs in Gomoa Ajumako have called on the government to take action on security concerns and land boundary disputes. These issues have been a source of friction among communities in the area.

The delegation's work follows recent public attention on A-Plus's involvement in the New Winneba situation. GhanaWeb and Yen News have both covered video footage showing A-Plus confronting a suspect linked to the land clashes. Yen News described the confrontation as leading to the arrest of an individual referred to as an "area top boy."

The peace mission is scheduled to take place on Saturday, September 5. It remains to be seen whether the delegation's efforts will help calm tensions between the communities and lead to a broader government response on the underlying land and security issues.
