A HOLY TEMPLE ON THE MOVE
(Let Christ Live Through Your Body)

TO THE BIBLE – 1 Corinthians 6:15
“Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ?…”
Monday morning started with a headache.
Maya woke up feeling heavy—tight shoulders, dull pressure behind her eyes, the kind of weariness that usually followed a weekend of mental tension. The unresolved group-chat pressure with Tyler still sat at the edge of her thoughts. Jordan had agreed to wait before confronting anyone, but the silence from that corner of the class felt louder than the earlier sarcasm.
By second period the headache had settled in. She caught herself rubbing her temples between notes.
At lunch she found Jordan already at their usual table, staring at an untouched sandwich.
“You look worse than I feel,” he said when he saw her.
“Just a headache,” Maya answered. “Probably from everything still hanging over us.”
Jordan nodded slowly. “Yeah. I barely slept. Kept thinking about what Tyler might say next. My stomach’s been in knots since yesterday.”
They sat in silence for a moment. Around them the cafeteria noise continued as usual. The pressure hadn’t exploded yet, but it hadn’t left either.
Maya remembered the verse she had read that morning. She sat up a little straighter.
“Jordan… our bodies aren’t just dealing with stress on their own. The Bible says our bodies are members of Christ. Literally part of Him. That means the same life that flows through Him is supposed to flow through us—even on days like this.”
Jordan looked sceptical. “So the headache and the knots are just… not allowed?”
“They’re not supposed to thrive,” Maya said. “Because Christ lives in us. This body—” she gestured lightly at herself “—is His expression point on earth. Same with yours. When we stay conscious of that, sickness and weakness lose their place.”
She paused, then added more quietly, “I’ve been letting the tension write the story in my body. That’s the part I need to change.”
After school they walked toward the front gates together. The headache had eased but not fully disappeared. Jordan still looked tired.
Near the exit they passed Tyler and two others. Tyler glanced over, opened his mouth as if to say something, then seemed to change his mind and kept walking. The moment passed without words, but the air still felt charged.
Maya stopped at the edge of the courtyard and turned to Jordan.
“I’m going to do something when I get home,” she said. “The Act for today. Stand in front of a mirror and say it out loud—these eyes, this mouth, these hands, these feet… are members of Christ. I think you should do it too.”
Jordan gave a short, almost reluctant laugh. “Talking to my reflection now?”
“If it helps you remember what’s actually true,” Maya replied, “yes.”
He didn’t argue. They parted ways at the gate. The social tension with Tyler remained unresolved. The next confrontation could still come at any time. But as Maya walked home, she kept returning to the same thought:
Her body was not ordinary.
Neither was Jordan’s.
Christ lived in them—and that changed what was allowed to stay.
ACT
Stand in front of a mirror. Point to your eyes, mouth, hands, and feet, saying each time: “These are members of Christ.”
