THE TREASURES OF WISDOM AND KNOWLEDGE

TO THE BIBLE– Colossians 2:2-3
“that their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.”
The clear stand in the group chat had changed the temperature, but it had not removed every question.
By Monday morning a new practical pressure had taken its place. Their history teacher announced a surprise analytical essay due Wednesday—open-ended, no notes allowed in the final write-up, heavy weighting. The topic required connecting themes most of the class had only half-followed. Around the room the usual low panic started to rise.
At lunch Jordan dropped his bag onto the table and exhaled hard.
“I don’t know how to approach this one,” he said. “I can memorise facts. I can’t pull the deeper connections she wants—not fast enough. And I still don’t know where things stand with Tyler’s group after yesterday. It’s like I’m missing pieces on both sides.”
Maya understood the frustration. The public identification with Jesus had been necessary and strengthening, yet it had also left a new kind of uncertainty: how to walk wisely in the aftermath while handling real academic pressure at the same time.
She set her own notes aside.
“You’re speaking like someone who has no access,” she said. “But the Bible says all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden in Christ—and we’re in Him. That means nothing is supposed to stay beyond our reach. School topics. Relational clarity. Decisions. We don’t have to stay in the dark.”
Jordan gave her a sceptical look. “So I just… know things I don’t know?”
“You activate what you already have access to,” Maya answered. “Your spirit doesn’t forget and it isn’t limited the way your head is. When you pray in tongues, you put your spirit in position to receive. Then the knowledge you need can rise from your spirit to your mind. You’ve seen smaller versions of this already. This is the same principle applied on purpose.”
She leaned forward slightly. “Stop saying ‘I don’t know.’ Replace it. ‘In the Name of Jesus, I have access to the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.’ Then pray. Let the Holy Spirit bring what you need.”
Jordan was quiet for a while, turning the words over. The cafeteria noise continued around them. Across the room Tyler sat with his usual group; their eyes met once, briefly, before both looked away. The social thread remained unfinished.
Finally Jordan nodded.
“Okay. I’ll try it. Before I start studying tonight—and before I decide how to handle whatever is still sitting with Tyler—I’ll pray first instead of starting from ‘I don’t know.’”
Maya smiled. “That’s the shift. The treasures are already there. We just have to stop living like they’re locked.”
The essay still loomed. The lingering social tension had not fully resolved. Yet the posture between them had changed again. They were no longer approaching either pressure as people without resource.
They had access.
And they were learning how to use it.
ACT
