Barys and Salavat Yulaev combined for 14 goals in a single KHL game, with Barys coming out on top, according to KHL. The matchup headlined the league's latest day of play, which also brought first victories of the season for both Dynamo and CSKA.
Sportbox described the scoring pace as roughly one goal every four minutes, calling it a goal-scoring frenzy in Russian hockey. Salavat Yulaev head coach Viktor Kozlov said afterward that plenty went wrong for his team, but his players kept competing, the club reported.
The day's results also included a Plotnikov milestone, which KHL listed among the main developments. KHL's roundup further noted that Traktor played without its head coach and that SKA enjoyed a fortunate outcome, while Avangard's official site summed up Barys's performance as wild.
Details beyond those points were not available in the source material, including the final score, individual goal scorers, and the exact nature of Plotnikov's achievement.
Attention now turns to how Barys carries its high-scoring form forward, whether Dynamo and CSKA can build on their first wins, and how Salavat Yulaev responds after conceding in bunches.
